Jingle Balls........

I have come to the conclusion that "xmas" is a mass consumption, over hyped, consumer driven fiasco....

That being said, I do like making Christmas cards, usually...
This year, meh. I've had no desire to do anything christmassy, have been getting very bah humbug.
I blame the meds....

I did make a digicard for the Imagine That! Progressive challenge.
Its a very basic background to emphasize the "JOY" image.
Its sorta quirky, but I like it.

Sunday 30 November 2014

And the winner for latest entry is.....

I've definitely beat my record this time.... a whole 17 hours before deadline!!!
One of these days, I will sort myself out a day at the start of the month to do my competition entries.....
maybe......

A digital entry this time. I've been so bogged down with orders and health issues, I've barely had time to visit the bathroom, let alone make cards!!
Admins, I hope a digital entry is OK?

Hopefully I will be back in fighting form for next months challenge :)

Competition entries

Well, I managed to do this months a whole TWO DAYS before the deadline!!!!!

As usual, Competition is run by imagine that
Theme this month was "Lets Squash cancer"
The image was coloured using Promarkers, and the background papers were from etsy.com

I still have a few images to do before the end of the month, so tomorrow is going to be a busy day :)

Tuesday 28 October 2014

Life goes on.....

I haz been having a life!
After being a bit antisocial and hermit like for a few years, I am actually going out of the house and meeting real people, on a regular occurrence! Yeah, strange....

I have a knit and natter gathering on a Wednesday and Thursday. Knitting, surrounded by books in the library, with a coffee supplying cafe within spitting distance, what could be better :)

And "pain management" group on a Friday.  It's useless. honestly.  I have to go as part of my treatment for my various ailments, or the specialist will stop seeing me.
This course, and the accompanying "workbook" is a waste of my time. Two and a half hours of  "pain specialists" blathering on about all the stuff you should be doing, when its blatantly obvious they have never experienced any chronic or long term pain. All whilst being sat on the most uncomfortable chairs ever, pointing out to the people in charge that these are terrible chairs, and 2 weeks later, guess what...? Yeah, still got the painfully uncomfortable chairs.
Apparently, I am meant to pace myself in doing stuff, and not run around like a blue arsed fly getting everything done when I'm feeling OK.  So how and when am I meant to get stuff done???

Oh, I had my big toenail removed last week.....
OUCH!!!
It;s a bit manky at the moment, but anything would be if a caustic solution was used on it.
The nurse was bemused, as I was asking more questions than the student who was in lol.
I've not dropped anything on it, yet..........

Monday 29 September 2014

Competition entries.....

I am trying to enter these competitions, damnit, and I always keep leaving it til the last minute.
I really should pull my finger out and get more organised...

Anywhoo, here's this months concoction...

This months challenge on Imagine That is an "anything goes" theme.
I used an old freebie from the Facebook fan page.
The image is coloured with Promarkers, the heart paper is from the Paperstack bookazine volume 1, and the blue and white spotty is some craft tape I had dug out of my forgotten crafty box!

I like this, cute but not saccharin sweet.

Hope y'all like it too :)

Halloween countdown.....

Only 38 more days to go!!!!
So its a Goths favorite time of the year soon...Halloween!!
I admit to having slight overtures of gothiness now and again ... not as much as when I was but a wee Doozer, its too bloody expensive getting decent clothes now!!

I do tend to love knitting scary things though, Halloween is defiantly my Christmas :)

This is what I haz been making lately...

I love these little hamsters, 6 inches of scary cuteness!!
All this is coincidentally for sale, just in case you were wondering...( I know you were)

Thursday 4 September 2014

Ronry, always so ronry....

I've been on my own since Sunday night, as Him indoors is on a course. I shall be alone next week as well. What have I done all on my ownsome you wonder..? Absolutely diddly squat!!
Its been strange, cuz usually I'm running around doing this, doing that, all sorts of coupley things. This last few days, i've only done stuff for me. Gone to bed when I want, slept til I want, Ate what and when I wanted, and caught up on loads of tv watching.
Now don't get me wrong, I can still do all that when he's here, but I like spending the time in bed talking before he goes to sleep. (remember, I'm a hardcore insomniac)
Its weird not being nagged every five minutes to eat , cuz I forget to eat when I'm busy.
I don't miss the "lets have a takeaway 3 times a week" even though theres plenty of food in the house. I am losing weight, yes, even in the last couple days, its a noticeable amount. Cooking the food I like, not making a compromise and eating what he wants because he "doesn't do healthy"

But, its been too quiet, and the cats are missing him.

Me too.

Competiton entries....

So I've been trying to do some more colouring, and have entered myself in a few competitions to try and spur myself on. Yeah, thats working.......
One month to make the entries, and here I am, one day to go, and only have one card to show for it...FAIL......

Oh well, here the card is anyhoo..

Challenge is from  imagine that

I coloured the image with promarkers. I think i did ok..

Thursday 28 August 2014

Its finally finished....

So most of you probably don't know I am a Dr Who geek, and a knitting geek. I managed to combine the two into a glorious collaboration...

May I present.....

Tom Bakers scarf, when he played The Doctor...
Pretty epic right!!!
It. Took. Months.   Yes, months!!! Even though it is all knit stitch, nothing fancy. The shower rail was the only place I could hang it where it wouldn't either get claimed by the cats, or stolen by some ne'er do well in the vicinity.
EPIIIIIIC!!!

I may or may not decide to make more, for the purpose of making me some money so I can buy new glasses.

I haven't watched the new episode of Dr Who yet, (NO SPOILERS) as Mr Hairy is not a fan, so I'm going to wait until he buggers off for a bit, and BINGE!!!!!!

Friday 15 August 2014

All quiet on the blog front....

So all you lovely blog readers, hello again!  I has been very quiet for a while, I know. Life, and all sorts of non interesting things have got in the way, as usual.
I have been churning out the knitting, multiple mini teds that are super fiddly, a minion, some Frozen characters, and a dead fish hat.  And the usual socks as well. As well as all that, I have an ongoing Tom Baker Dr Who scarf, that is taking aaaages to finish. Not because its hard, but because it is all garter stitch.....miles of the bloody stuff!! I keep forgetting and do purl rows, then I have to frog back and redo...its frustrating.
I am also trying a new pattern for ....knee warmers... Yes, you read right...knee warmers!   I have painful knees on good days, and when they get cold, they become pretty much unbearable. Short of constantly having blankets gaff taped to my legs, I need something else. Even Deep Heat spray wasn't warming them up..
Theyre meant to look like this when finished....
I'm using a nubbly pinky purple sheeps wool that I have leftover from a jumper I made, so it should be lovely and warming.

I'm also getting better at the loosing of the body flub, almost  a stone now!!  No faddy diet, not slogging for hours exercising, just watching my portions, and working on a daily calorie allowance. I'm still eating chocolate, ice cream, take aways, all the good stuff, even real butter!  I'm just not eating as much anymore. We shall see if I can continue.

Tuesday 29 July 2014

Brrrrr.....

I finally finished my little ish knitting project today.
I have these *fantastic* ideas sometimes, and have to see them through, even if they go horribly wrong..... So far, none have, but I'm not counting my chickens!!
This idea had been knocking around in my head for a little while, after I watched, and thoroughly enjoyed I may add, a certain Disney movie that is extremely popular at the moment.
If I start singing about building snowmen, you'd get the idea......
I make what I call Critterz, little characters, in simple shapes, that are good for little hands to hold. Mostly animals, but I make some based on movies I've seen, books I've read, etc..
These are the latest..

I bet you can guess who they are now, eh!

I do actually sell most of my work, so if any of you are interested, pop over to my Facebook page, or my Etsy shop. I will always put new work up on Facebook first, and will happily take custom work :)

Competition entries

I have entered a few competitions, of the make a card type. You're given an image, or a theme, and asked to make a "thing", sometimes a card, sometimes an anything, sometimes just a coloured image.
I've managed to finish two entries so far...

This one is from Stampin Dragons Designs, and is for the Facebook group challenge. The challenge was to use the image of the dragon with holly, on any finished item. I chose to make a card, of course, with the holly, it had to be a christmassy one!

This one was from Imagine That.., with the fantastic main image from the Meowy Mousmas set!
I actually liked doing this one, and experimented making the cat a bit stripey. Lots of sparkles courtesy of Wink Of Stella pens, which never show up on my pictures *hurumph*

I've entered a few more, buuut, haven't quite managed to finish those yet. I've got a week, plenty of time........

Friday 25 July 2014

Sunburn part deux.....

So I ended the last post with the news of sunburn. A bit of a buggerance, but nothing I haven't seen in the last umpty five years. I am fair skinned. That is an understatement, A milk bottle has more colour than me!!  Seriously, you can actually see the veins in my wrists and on my chest, its freaky...
I like being pale and mysterious, the sun and I have a hate hate relationship. I hate it because its hot, bright and gives me hives and headaches, it hates me and will deliberately seek me out and shine on me....(in my miiiiind)
Yeah, I don't much like the sun, closet goth, hello!
Where was I? Ah, sunburn. So I got burnt Sunday (Ironic much) and commenced with the slathering of lotions and potions. trying to stop my poor, reddened skin from turning into crusty nastiness. Its happened before, it wasn't nice..  Was doing very well, Monday came and went, the redness had all but died down, and I had silky smooth bits of skin.
Tuesday...Oh Tuesday, why??  I needed to go to the shops, baking hot weather. Out came the factor 50, wasn't taking any chances this time!  Off I trotted to the shops, a 10 minute walk at my speed. Did my bimbling around the shops, and walked back.
 The fun begins....
Gets in the house, fumbling up the stairs, as my reactions lenses had not adapted yet, nearly kicked the cat as usual, dumped the bag, and floomped into the chair. So far so good. As the glasses cleared, I happened to catch a look at my arm out of the corner of my eye...."No, seriously, NO!"  Yup,  was burnt.....AGAIN.... This is on top of the other burn, slathered in factor 50, affectionately termed "Gordie white bastard" around these here parts.
I am now shedding like a snake, its not pretty.
On the plus side, I have got some decent sized pieces to have a good look at in my microscope :)
I have decided I must be a vampire. Sleeps during the day, can;t sleep at night, burns in sunlight.
At least I don't sparkle.......

Monday 21 July 2014

Sun, Sea, bikes and sunburn....

Went to a bike rally type thingie today with the other half. We went on the quadbike, otherwise known as "the Beast" lol, four wheels, lots of grunt, and enough room for my fat arse on the back :) Though saying that, I'm a bit smaller than I was last time I went on it, so my helmet is looser around my chin, and I was sliding a bit on the seat!

Saw some GORGEOUS bikes, old cars, trikes, bikes and sidecars, even this beaut....

Custom paint job on the teardrop caravan, room for two inside, and a bonus skelly passenger!!

Then there was the "zombie hunters" bike...

cool rat bike, festooned with axes, gas mask, and a zombie head!!!!!

The custom paint job on this one is absolutely epic...

sort of wild west type scenery, all matching boxes...ace :)

The trike....*drool*

very bloomin excellent if you ask me :)

Fish and chips were imbibed as our usual weekend treat, cooked and served as always at the The Waterfront, in my opinion, the best chippie around!
Staff are very friendly, food is always fresh and tasty, and the prices aren't ridiculous either :)

Then back for a bit more of a mootch around the bikes, until my stupid back up and decided to play up. I parked my bum on the quad and interacted with the masses....i.e, I had a natter with the people who were interested in Beastie.

Left about , hmm,, 2ish maybe, very good day, a band called "The Middens" were playing old English punk songs, not too badly either, and, after a mizzly start, the weather brightened and got scorching....literally...

I got sunburn....
I never get sunburn, as I hate the sun....
bright red face, neck/chest, and arms..
feckin sunburn...
sat here throbbing and glowing....
Bugger.

Wednesday 16 July 2014

And now, the weather........

Sunny, rainy, sunny,cold,sunny.........
Typical Newcastle daily weather really...

I haz been colouring with my growed up penz!!!!
This is a yampuff design I coloured with Promarkers. It wasn't an Alice picture, but I wanted to colour it to look like Alice and the Cheshire Cat.
Not sure what I'm going to make with this yet, maybe a "friend" type card :3

Another one from Yampuff based on a commision by Melody-kitn.
This one is being made into a birthday card for a certain someone special <3

I also have been working on another pair of socks.....yes, another! I tend to have at least one pair on the go all the time, as they are great pick up for 5 minutes projects. These are all mock cable and greeny yellow, a lot nicer than it actually sounds!

Now I'm off to play silly games whilst my furry friend  snores away, happily wrapped around my feet :3

Tuesday 15 July 2014

I'm baaaaack!!! Slight hiccup last night, in the shape of all you can eat chinese buffet and roast dinner, followed by a pint or four at the pub quiz....

I still managed to haul my carcass out of bed and finish knitting my newest socks :)  May I present.....Pucker!

A lovely no brainer of a knit, once I'd worked out the progression of the pattern. Am looking forward to cooler weather to wear these, as they are soo warm!
I've already cast on my next pair, in the theme of "lace" for a KAL, Knit ALong, on Ravelry, the most friendliest fibre arts website I've found. Seriously, if you knit, crochet, loom or spin, go along to ravelry, it's completely free to join, and has gazillions of patterns, free and paid, for you to drool over :)

Thinking I might get on and do some colouring tomorrow, seeing as he who shall not be named is off work for the day. I can lose myself in work whilst hes killing things on the xbox, trying not to swear at the 13 year old noobs lol. I have yet to properly online game, as I know I would probably get banned for swearing, or throw the controller at the telly 0_o

Sunday 13 July 2014

Day 1 of the new blog. Or should that be Night 1...... I am a creature of the night... No, seriously, not all vampires and stuff, though that would probably be interesting heh. I have chronic insomnia, so i tend to do most of my computery things at night, whilst being simultaneously loved by Snarf, one of our insane cats, and deafened by Snory McGrizzly, aka, the other half.
The cats....
Snarf

 Nipper

Snarf, yes named after the Thundercats character, Is the poser. Get a camera out, he starts voguing! Loves being cuddled, and has the fluffiest belly I've ever felt :3
Nipper, because the first thing he did when picked up was nip fingers, doesn't like cameras at all. He will leave the room if I get one out, so I got to have ninja skills just to get snaps like this!

On to me.......
Hi *waves* I'm DoozerBoB... Weird hair coloured, pierced, tattooed, geek, knitter...How did I get that nickname??  I was called Bob for a long time because, when I first moved up North, i was very quiet and reserved.. Silent Bob is a character from Kevin Smith's films, all silent and brooding and stuff. Plus I was about the same size.... Doozer... Not from the Fraggle Rock characters believe it or not. I am a big computer geek, can fix them, sorta build them, and can find anything with my Google fu powers. People kept asking me if I could "do us a favour" pronounced "doo'za favour" , so I started calling myself DoozerBob, and it stuck :)

The other half...
Hmm, hairy biker type bloke, longer hair than me, big ol' dwarf beard, tall as he is wide, snores like a grizzly chewing a log.......

So, thats enough for now methinks, I'll let you digest that bit, and maybe see ya tomorrow..Toodles!!!
